Here’s the FF14 Evercold release date and everything announced during Yoshi-P’s Fanfest Tokyo keynote

The FF14 Evercold release date is set, and Game Director Naoki Yoshida has taken to the stage at Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival Tokyo to reveal the last major details for the upcoming expansion. That means a look at the final form of the Evercold trailer, news on the full release date (a little later than originally planned), a closer look at the new Zephyr ranged physical DPS job, and plenty of additional details on the next chapter of the MMORPG. I’m here to recap everything shown and make sure you don’t miss any of the important information, so let’s get straight into it.

As ever, Final Fantasy 14 Director ‘Yoshi-P’ is joined by his regular on-stage companion, Localization Lead Michael-Christopher Koji Fox, to act as his English translator. We start with a confirmation and a delay: The FF14 Evercold release date is February 19, 2027 in early access, with the full launch on February 23. That’s a little later than the original January promise, and Yoshida apologizes with a bow. “We put forth every effort to get this done at the end of January,” he says, “This is being done to make sure we can deliver on the many promises we’ve made. We appreciate your understanding as we near the finish line.”

We also get to see the extended version of the trailer, including plenty more of Visna, the pink-haired Miqo’te we met in the recent MSQ patch, in action as a Zephyr. There’s a character seen accompanying Alphinaud who very clearly resembles Ysale, although Yoshida emphasizes that this is a newcomer. She’s called Lagertha, and is the first mate, or second in command, of Naglfar, the Realmship of Water. We also get a name confirmation for Baldr, the red-haired Roegadyn who acted as our introduction to the other Evercold job, the gunshield-bearing Bastion.

Yoshida starts with a full reveal for the new ranged physical job, which we already got a glimpse of in patch 7.56’s main story. The Zephyr is a ranged physical DPS that uses a crossbow along with an avian familiar called a Nephele. Its origins on the Source can be traced back to the northwestern mountains of Ilsabard, although you’ll be able to start learning it from Gridiania. Like the Bastion, it begins at level 90 – ten below the beginning point of Evercold – and will only use the new Evolved Mode, with no Reborn Mode form.

“It’s been a while since we introduced a proper pet job, so what do you think?” Yoshida explains that the Zephyr works in tandem with the bird of prey at its side “to unleash powerful coordinated attacks as well as provide party support.” On the battlefield, they’re experts in evasion, and employ “a variety of breezy movement actions for precise positioning.” We got a glimpse of how this might work courtesy of the Evolved Mode Bard at Fanfest Anaheim, but you can take a closer look at the Zephyr in action below.

Next up, it’s time to take a flying visit through some at more environments we’ll be visiting, starting with another of the five massive ships that will act as Evercold’s main zones: Sessrymnir, the Realmship of Earth. This boasts gorgeous overground fields with tunnel networks that delve down deep underground into stone-hewn mines and caverns filled with glimmering rocks.

Then there’s Skiðblaðnir, the Realmship of Wind: this slightly more sparse but still nature-first region incorporates wind technology across its many environments, and is where we’ll encounter the Köttr, that adorable new race of dwarf-like cats. Yoshida, unable to keep his eyes off the live chat, laughs about how everyone is obsessed with these adorable creatures. He notes that this is also where you’ll find the engineers that build most of the Fourth’s ships.

If you’ve already played the 7.56 MSQ, you’ll have been introduced to the concept of the brands: these elementally aligned marks are applied to Realmship inhabitants at birth, and you can’t get close to someone with a different brand. As Visna puts it: “Your heart seizes up, and nine times out of ten, you’re dead.” Given that our Warrior of Light and their companions don’t have these, that should make us particularly useful on The Fourth.

After a quick flash through some remaining regions, we’re shown the second town, Hjartadunur, which is that fantastical region we caught a glimpse of in Anaheim with towering flowers and a giant pit in the middle. Yoshida also mentions that both of the main towns in Evercold will feature special jumping puzzles, and adds that the team heard players’ feedback that the Dawntrail implementations were “too easy,” so get ready for some more serious challenges. “Things like this are what’s fun about MMORPGs,” he remarks.

Next, we dig back into the level scaling systems, with a reminder that after the opening area, there will be three zones that you can go to in any order. These will scale based on your character’s level, adapting to fit whichever order you approach them in – even including the three dungeons found across those regions, as seen in the diagram above.

One of Evercold’s biggest overhauls is the new Adventurer Activity screen, which has been fairly significantly updated since we last saw it. Yoshida explains that the background reflects the area you’re currently in, but says the team is considering introducing ways to customize the actual room layout. At the bottom you’ll see your activity level, which ranks up as you complete regular activities. There are repeatable ‘standard missions,’ and then a selection of ‘weekly missions.’

The weekly tasks are designed to pull FF14 away from the old daily demands to a more friendly, flexible system. Yoshida re-confirms that once you’ve earned your weekly cap of rewards points, you’ll be able to go back and claim any from the previous week that you didn’t have time for. He also touches on ‘seasons,’ the new framing for two-patch cycles (such as ‘8.0 and 8.1,’ or ‘8.2 and 8.3’), and is eager to state once more that this is no more than a naming convention: it does not mean any extra fees.

Yoshida announces that Evolved Mode has now been implemented for all jobs, and the team is in the process of testing the nuances of balance and tuning. He offers a reminder that you’ll now be able to copy your highest item level across to all your jobs, providing that they’re already at max level, although you’ll still be encouraged to gear up to get the full complement of substats if you’re doing particularly hard content.

If you’re eager to test out some of the new character creation options, you’ll have the ability to do so through the FF14 Evercold benchmark, which is currently planned to release in December. Yoshida mentions that eye colors will use a ‘contact lens’ system, suggesting we’ll be able to change them more freely in a similar manner to hair without having to go through more involved character creation. Action skins, meanwhile, will introduce new ways to customize a variety of animations from teleporting to combat skills.

Square Enix has been working on a guidance system to help direct you to quests, but the date this will arrive is still “a bit tentative.” Another feature Yoshida says will make it in time for 8.0 is auto-remounting, allowing you to immediately jump back on your mount after speaking with an NPC. Yoshida also announces that owning any of the three faster mounts – the SDS Fenrir, Garland GL-IS, or Hardy Daytona – will apply the extra speed to all of your mounts, meaning you aren’t forced to use just those options to get the benefit.

Alliance Raids are changing. Whereas before there has been a very consistent structure to these, working through packs of mobs between each of the four major boss fights. Yoshida says the team has struggled to create “rewards that feel appropriate for the amount of time put into them.” To alleviate this, each tier of the Alliance Raids will now be split into two separate parts, each featuring two of the big battles and the encounters that precede them. For now, it’s just for new additions, but it might come to older ARs in future.

There’s also a new difficulty level: eight-player Savage Alliance Raids. Starting with the Evangelion crossover Ghosts of Desire, these will pick out the bosses to create a set of “high-difficulty encounters.” Yoshida admits that eight people isn’t technically a full alliance, but says you can expect two unique battle stages, with a challenge at around the third stage of a Savage Raid tier. He notes that it’s still being decided whether you’ll deal with the encounters separately or in a back-to-back run.

For something completely new, Gauntlet of Power is a four-player boss rush activity where the unique twist is that you can go in at any level from 51 onwards, and don’t have to be matching your teammates. This means you’ll have full access to all of the actions you have unlocked, rather than needing to scale down to meet other players, and the encounters will adjust to give everyone a fair chance. Yoshida says this is designed to feel like “light content” that’s easy to jump into whenever you want.

You’ll face up to five bosses in total, randomly selected from a pool of over 200, and can vote after each fight whether you want to continue the run. To ensure there are no spoilers, you’ll only be put up against opponents that everyone in the party has already fought. You’re free to join this in a party of your own, or matchmake from almost anywhere. “As we add new instanced dungeons, those bosses will all be added to the Gauntlet of Power as well.”

To improve gear progression, Evercold will be introducing ‘seasonal gear,’ which you’ll earn by raising your activity level in that new character screen. At certain milestones, you’ll unlock seasonal categories for specific gear slots (seen on the bottom row). These are shared across all your jobs, and once you’ve met the requirements you can grab the associated gear from a new seasonal screen, meaning you won’t have to remember which NPC to find to cash in your earned rewards.

During an even-numbered patch, upgrading your seasonal gear can be done with the new middle-difficulty Raid tier, which now has a name: Fierce. You can upgrade one piece per week this way. When the subsequent odd patch arrives, the weekly cap on Fierce Raid upgrades will be lifted, and you’ll also be able to get one optimization per week from the normal-difficulty trials as well, giving an in to more casual players.

High-end Raid gear will come from Savage Raids as before, but we’re now getting personal loot, with a trade-in item assured for everyone who takes part. This can then be exchanged for the specific piece you want, again using the same new gear menu. Each floor of the Raid will be tied to specific slots, so you’ll still need to run them all to complete your loadout. As a new addition, you’ll now be able to edit the secondary attributes on this gear, but will no longer start with Materia slots for guaranteed melding.

There will be two upgrades for each tier of Raid gear, and doing this will give you the options for advanced Materia melding. Yoshida also assures that the probability for melding success here is “much higher” than it is with the traditional crafted options, so you shouldn’t burn through as many Materia. The first upgrade uses the same items as obtaining the gear; the second level will need you to dive into the new Savage Alliance Raids and then combine tickets from that with some crafted materials. As an added bonus, fully optimizing a gear set will add new “unique graphical effects” to the weapon.

Yoshida confirms that the expanded matchmaking test within regions will be coming to North America and Europe on Tuesday November 10, and China on Tuesday December 1. He says the Japanese test is going well, and thanks players for their participation and feedback so far. We then get some glimpses at the new Evercold job gear, and Yoshida says this will include the ability to toggle off certain elements of the outfits to your liking, such as Black Mage scarves, Gunbreaker spare cartridges, or long Viper collars.

There’s a demonstration of the updated Duty Support system, which now supports groups of all sizes, allowing you to go into a dungeon with two players and two NPCs, or fill out the rest of a raid group without having to wait for matchmaking. Then we dip back into the Chocobo Companion overhaul, including the ability to bring them into dungeons and a rework to the breeding system, although Yoshida reminds us that these won’t arrive until patch 8.1.

Next up is a quick runthrough of some of the new dungeons and enemies we’ll face, before a brief dive into PvP. Expect some adjustments for 8.0 here, including the implementation of Bastion and Zephyr, but the real meat is scheduled for 8.1. This will bring a “large-scale content update” for PvP, as well as a fresh chapter of the Hall of the Novice designed to better introduce newcomers to competitive play.

Moving onto housing, the long-awaited interior size customization is now set for patch 8.1. This will let you pick your preferred layout from small to large, regardless of the actual exterior size of your property, although you’ll have to spend some Gil for the privilege. The planned overhaul to the housing interface is currently scheduled to arrive in patch 8.2, and Yoshida confirms that this will allow official support for the likes of midair furnishing placement without the need for tricky exploits.

Yoshida also says more housing plots are in the works to give more people a chance at getting their own space. The team doesn’t yet have a timeframe for this, however, as it’s currently in the process of discussing what the best implementation is. “I’ve already given the budget confirmation for this,” he assures us, “so it’s not a matter of if, but when.”

The first tier of the Final Fantasy 7 Raid, Beyond the Lifestream, is titled ‘Fated Collision,’ and Yoshida says it’s already been balanced and is almost ready to go. The normal mode will arrive in 8.01, slightly after Evercold’s launch, to give players time to enjoy the MSQ. Savage lands in patch 8.05, with the new Fierce difficulty one week after that. He explains that this timing is designed to avoid Fierce feeling like a prerequisite for Savage, either from a fight analysis perspective or a gear-based one.

As the show draws towards its close, we get to see some fresh art for the Raid, along with another short trailer for the Evangelion Alliance Raid, Ghosts of Desire, which will kick off using the standard schedule in patch 8.1. There’s nothing too much to report here, although Sephiroth is featured rather prominently in the new artwork for Beyond the Lifestream – read into that what you will.

That’s everything for today, although Yoshida gives us another look at the Collector’s Edition bundle and the extremely flashy Reaper statue that it includes. There’s plenty more to come before launch, however; it sounds as though we can look forward to multiple live letters digging into a range of topics. There will be a full rundown of Evolved Mode for every job, and a closer look at some of the newly added content coming with 8.0.

Final Fantasy 14 Evercold early access starts on Friday February 19, 2027, with the full release set for Tuesday February 23, 2027. Pre-orders begin on Wednesday November 4, and you’ll get a Wind-Up Köttr minion and the experience-boosting Halone’s Earring to use in-game when you make your purchase.

Path of Exile 2 hints at a second new class for 1.0, driving fans into a frenzy

If this new Path of Exile 2 trailer proves to be a red herring, Grinding Gear Games will have a lot to answer for. Its latest teaser for the action RPG’s 1.0 launch invites us to ‘Become the Darkness,’ and all the clues point to the addition of a second, unannounced new class when the full release arrives in December. The brief video has ignited a speculation fire under the community in the lead-up to PoE 2’s big reveal at Exilecon, as players argue over which other mechanics or even characters could be ready for the full release.

All the way back at the end of 2025, Path of Exile 2 Game Director Jonathan Rogers told me there was a good chance that the ARPG’s 1.0 launch wouldn’t include all 12 of the planned classes. The team’s focus was on a finished campaign, robust endgame, and enjoyable balance state, he explained. GGG has been rolling out additions throughout early access, however, and the announcement of the Duelist and swords for 1.0 is set to bring the total count up to nine.

That just leaves three of the original Path of Exile classes absent: the Marauder, the Templar, and the Shadow (ignoring the neutrally aligned Scion, which has never been talked about in a PoE 2 capacity). Enter our newest teaser, seen below. “A Perandus knows fate can twist at a price,” the voiceover growls, “and to beware what lurks… in your shadow.” A dagger, the signature weapon of the thief-style class, slams into a golden coin, sending black smoke spilling out. The signs all point in one direction.

This isn’t official confirmation, of course. However, after a minor fiasco when a sword appeared in the teaser video for Return of the Ancients, only for the weapon type not to show up in the update, I suspect GGG will be acting very carefully when choosing its words and imagery. If the full 1.0 release doesn’t deliver on what feels like such an explicit promise here, the only option will be to chalk it up to some apocalyptic mischievousness on the developer’s part.

The Shadow isn’t the only interesting aspect of the teaser, however. Perandus coins are actually a very old PoE 1 mechanic, tied to the family of the same name. They first appeared in 2016’s Perandus League, then later became part of the Immortal Syndicate at the heart of 2018’s Betrayal League. The former mechanic is perhaps a little light to make the jump to Path of Exile 2, but the latter could certainly be due a fresh overhaul for the sequel.

Give players the slightest hit of something new, however, and they’ll immediately find a way to fly off the deep end with more theories. One popular suggestion in recent weeks has been that the new league could instead be a reimagining of Heist, where you fight through a facility as quietly as possible to snatch valuable loot before the alert is raised, then make your escape. Others have wondered if we might just be getting all four missing classes, although I’d urge a little restraint on clutching to such wishes; it’s better to be surprised than disappointed.

Path of Exile 2 version 1.0 launches on Friday, December 11, when it will transition from its paid early access into a free-to-play game. If Grinding Gear Games has any more big secrets up its sleeve, expect to learn about them next weekend at Exilecon 2026, which takes place November 7-8 live from Auckland, New Zealand.

Destiny 2’s future plans go beyond just unvaulting, but Bungie says the rift with Marathon “needs to heal” first

It’s been one month since Bungie confirmed it would be returning to Destiny 2. After releasing what was dubbed its final update in June, the studio announced in September that plans had changed. It’s now in the process of ‘unvaulting’ the FPS game – restoring all the lost content that was cut away over the years, attempting to streamline the player experience at the cost of its legacy. To talk in more depth about what that actually looks like, when we can expect it, and what else the future might hold, Head of Product Josh Deane joins Principal Communications Manager Dylan ‘dmg04’ Gafner for a fresh Destiny 2 update.

“We’re trying something new today,” Gafner says of this conversational format, which he says won’t be a weekly series but instead “a general space for us to give updates on our studio.” That will include both Destiny 2 and Marathon, as well as potentially more general updates about the goings-on at Bungie. For now, the focus is on the unvaulting process, the community response that spawned it, and how, in Deane’s words, the team intends to “rebuild a relationship with you all, not simply announce a future for a cheap win.”

Deane calls the months leading up to the Moment of Triumph update “as difficult a time as we’ve ever experienced.” Despite this, he says “it was necessary for that moment to not be a funeral; it had to be a battle cry. Basically, light the beacons and hope Rohan would answer. And you all did. You didn’t just rage; you showed up. You shared your stories about your memories in Destiny, what the world meant to you, and made sure to petition how disastrous it would be to walk away from this amazing universe.”

“It inspired everyone,” Deane recalls. Once the decision was made to try taking those tentative first steps back, the starting point was obvious: “repairing trust and making Destiny 2 ‘whole.'” This starts with unvaulting, which was initially Bungie’s answer to “some real technical challenges,” but ultimately “fragmented our experience and broke faith with our community.” Deane’s hope for what that ‘whole’ can be goes beyond that, however. “It means restoring Destiny’s past, present, and future.”

It won’t be fast. Destiny 2 unvaulting is currently in pre-production, with Bungie ensuring “the process is working and hitting our quality bar.” Deane expects this to run until January or February 2027, at which point he estimates that the full production will then take another full 12 months. “It’s a lot of content.”

The primary focus is on the “campaigns, strikes, and raids from vaulted expansions,” which includes the Red War of Destiny 2’s launch, along with Forsaken, Curse of Osiris, and Warmind. Menagerie is also being included here, because it “holds a special place in our hearts (and we’ve seen years of community requests for a return).” Beyond that, Bungie is investigating “stretch goals” such as free roam destinations, seasonal activities, PvP maps, and weapon updates for raids and raid lairs.

Some additional aspects are being considered, such as an update to the New Light Experience and seasonal hubs, but Deane notes these “could come at a cost for what we want to build for you in the future.” What does that mean? “This is the part of the conversation where I need to start talking about intent, even knowing some things are subject to change in success or failure.”

Deane admits that “time isn’t our friend; we’re playing from behind with the cards we have and I’m sure we’ll have to take more punches and make some hard decisions along the way.” Despite this, the studio is “marching forward with a phased plan for Destiny’s future.” This comes in three parts: a fresh celebration “that provides new updates for you all to enjoy;” the legacy of “the whole experience” from the past decade-plus; and a third, as-of-yet redacted piece. Expect more details on these in around February.

“The main thing we should all be on the same page on is we have a steep mountain to climb,” Deane reminds us. “The challenges we face are real to forge a new path for Bungie. It’s never been more important for our community to keep talking to us, to keep sharing your passion (and critiques), and to build each other up as one community.”

In service of this, Deane closes on one appeal: “The Destiny and Marathon communities need to heal.” While the community is somewhat shared between the two, there have been vocal groups on both sides, vehemently expressing their belief that the other half is holding their preferred game back. “The majority of our Bungie team is legacy Destiny, and we will all tell you that nothing can help bridge us into the future more than for Marathon to rapidly evolve and become sustainable.”

While the studio is working on that pre-production for the unvaulting process, it’s also been preparing Marathon Symbiosis, due to launch in December. “It’s a formative period for all of us here at Bungie that will help determine the shape of our future,” Deane concludes, “so please encourage each other and know that your support gives our team the energy to finish the fight.”

Phantom Blade Zero Gentle Thief quiz answers

Paul’s an expert in Videogames, Star Trek, flannel shirts – in that order. For PCGamesN he covers GTA, Arc Raiders, PUBG, and more.

You rarely use your words to solve a problem in Phantom Blade Zero; usually, the sharp end of your sword does the talking. There is a point, however, when you have to convince the Gentle Thief that you are, in fact, telling the truth. The answers should all be hidden away in your notes, but in case you don’t want to sift through reams of literature, we’ve got the solution right here.

You can get a fairly powerful item from completing the Gentle Thief’s quiz, so it’s well worth going after. There’s more than one way to get ahead in Phantom Blade Zero, it turns out, and this is one of the easiest. Here is how to solve the Gentle Thief quiz in PBZ.

All Gentle Thief quiz answers

The Gentle Thief asks you three questions, and you must answer them all correctly to get the reward. Here are the questions, followed by the answers:

  • Question One: The Nimble Thief always bragged about making his name young. So tell me, what did he do at thirteen that he never stopped bragging about?
    • Answer: Stole the landowner’s jade belt
  • Question Two: Next, the hairpin that doomed him for life – do you know what its head looked like?
  • Question Three: Then tell me, do you know what became of that poor family’s child?
    • Answer: The letter never said; his fate is unknown.

Once you answer all of the Gentle Thief’s questions correctly, he will reward you with the Silent Wrap, an accessory that reduces noise from footsteps and assassinations by 40% – perfect for those who enjoy the silent approach to things.

FF14’s first Final Fantasy 7 crossover has just arrived, with one disappointment

A new FF14 update has just kicked off the first part of its FF7 Remake collaboration, and hopefully you’ve got a keyboard to hand. While we’ll be getting an even bigger crossover next year in the form of the FF14 Evercold raid series, Beyond the Lifestream, you won’t have to wait until then to get your Final Fantasy 7 cosplay on the go in the MMORPG. Make your way over to the Manderville Gold Saucer to prove your typing prowess in the new Keybound Brawler event, which will be running until the 8.0 expansion’s launch arrives in January 2027.

In case you missed its original reveal during the Fanfest Berlin keynote three months ago, Keybound Brawler is a new limited-time addition to the FF14 Gold Saucer that will be running for set periods, a little like the come-and-go Fall Guys event. It’s essentially a series of themed typing minigames, so you will need a keyboard to hand. Console players, you should be able to plug in most USB keyboards for this purpose, and you’ve likely got one anyway if you do any chatting to other players.

The first outing for this is an FF7 Remake trilogy crossover, although Game Director Naoki ‘Yoshi-P’ Yoshida has teased that Keybound Brawler was designed to play nicely with other themes in the future, and says we could see all manner of collaborations with other games or media. That also means there’s no guarantee that it’ll come back with the same designs, and the vendor for rewards is only sticking around while the event is live, so don’t miss out.

This time, you (either solo or in a squad of up to four) will be battling through familiar locations from Final Fantasy 7, fighting enemies such as Shinra soldiers by typing various terms associated with the iconic RPG. That gives it a somewhat unique twist, so I hope you’re able to wrap your head around spellings such as Curaga, Aerith Gainsborough, and maybe even Quetzalcoatl. I can’t wait for the first person who insists on typing ‘Aeris’ for the whole round; I know you’re out there.

Taking part is well worth it; there are full outfits based on the classic costumes for Tifa and Barret, along with the latter’s signature gatling-gun arm as a fashion accessory that you can fire off as you please. Three Orchestrion Rolls will let you unlock the FF7 Gold Saucer music, fight theme Let the Battles Begin, and boss track Fight On. Then there’s a Wind-up Barret minion, a Magitek Scorpion mount, and both a Framer’s Kit and emote themed around Keybound Brawler generally. I have one major complaint: the two character clothing sets are still gender-locked. I thought we’d gotten past this, Square Enix?

To unlock Keybound Brawler, find the Catlike Mammet in the main entrance hall of the Gold Saucer (x:5.4, y:7.0 on the map). He offers the quest ‘Keyward Bound,’ which will send you a short distance over to Wonder Square, where helpful Miqo’te attendant W’zazanh will send you to the special hub, themed after Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s version of the Gold Saucer. That’s where you can join matches, and find the rewards vendor to turn in your new MGC, an event-specific currency.

If you somehow haven’t been to the Gold Saucer yet, you only need to reach level 15 and hit the point in the main story where you visit the main three cities, which you can do pretty quickly. Then you’ll be able to speak with the Well-heeled Youth in Ul’dah (he’s straight ahead when you come out of the main Aetheryte Plaza) to get the quest ‘It Could Happen to You,’ which will take you to FF14’s glamorous casino where everyone wins.

The first FF14 Keybound Brawler event, in collaboration with the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series, runs from Wednesday October 28, 2026 until the launch of patch 8.0, which is currently scheduled for some time in January 2027.

We don’t know the exact FF14 Evercold release date quite yet, but there’s a good chance we’ll find out what it is in just a few days, because Fanfest Tokyo is taking place this weekend, and it’s the final big stop on the new expansion’s hype tour. There won’t be too much talk of Evolved Mode, which is getting its own live stream later, but you can expect plenty of additional details on the redesigned weekly progression system, improvements to battle content, and the second new job.

Wardogs adds two new server hosts, but community servers are still a work in progress

If you’ve been itching to set up your own Wardogs server, you’ve got a couple more options to check out. Bulkhead has approved two new hosting partners for its chaotic 100-player shooter, with GG Host and 1of1 Servers joining the lineup.

The developer says in a recent post on X that Wardogs’ community servers will remain in Early Access alongside the game itself. Bulkhead adds that it’s working on more features to support server admins, although it hasn’t shared exactly what those will look like or when they’ll arrive. Both hosts offer ways to give your squad a place to play, but there are a few differences worth knowing about before you hand over your cash.

GG Host offers Wardogs servers across regions in Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. Its plans support up to 60, 80, or 100 players, with DDoS protection included. You can also tweak settings through its GG Nexus control panel, including passwords, player limits, team restrictions, and map rotation.

There’s one catch: you can’t install mods or upload your own server files. Bulkhead controls the FPS game’s builds, so GG Host updates your server when the developer releases a new version. 1of1 Servers takes a similar approach, offering 60-player servers from $69.99 per month, with upgrades to 80 or 100 slots costing extra.

Location is worth checking before you commit, too. Ashburn and Dallas are currently available through 1of1 Servers, while London, Frankfurt, Singapore, Sydney, and Johannesburg remain on its list of upcoming locations. If you’re playing from the UK, you’ll want to keep that in mind before choosing a server.

There’s also a little more to community servers than simply setting up private matches with your mates. Wardogs lets players earn cash and XP on community servers, which carry over to their regular accounts. However, Bulkhead has made it clear that it won’t tolerate XP farming or hosts exploiting the game’s progression systems.

Community servers are still evolving, so there’s plenty of room for improvement. With two more approved hosts now available, finding a place for your squad should get easier.

Phantom Blade Zero review – A new action RPG gold standard

Tom is an expert in all things Fortnite or the latest RPG release, but is probably spending too much time on the latest EA FC game.

Published: October 26, 2026

Our Verdict

Phantom Blade Zero is a stunning action RPG that gives the best of all time a run for their money. Phenomenal combat, a beautiful world, and a confidently original story wrapped up in a package that’s an intricately designed Metroidvania at heart. It’s a special game.

Ever since my first time seeing Phantom Blade Zero in person at Summer Game Fest earlier this year, I knew to expect the spectacular. Halfway through my demo, the PR team ushered me behind a curtain to see a video of a boss fight that Soulframe, the game’s director, had just been sent. I wasn’t allowed to talk about it at the time, but it blew me away. The fluidity of the action, the beauty of the arena, and the epic three-stage music were incredible. I expected it to be a highlight of the game, though, rather than just one of countless incredible moments the full game boasts.

The question of what exactly Phantom Blade Zero is has been floating around for years. S-Game insists that it’s not a Soulslike, while the checkpoint system and general aesthetic say otherwise, and that it’s primarily an action RPG. What I believe it is more than anything else, however, is a Metroidvania. Exploration, backtracking, finding keys, secret bosses, and blocked paths are core to Phantom Blade Zero. In that sense, it’s a remarkably well-designed game.

The action RPG identity of S-Game’s adventure is phenomenal, too. Its vision for kung-fu punk has well and truly been realized. Fighting enemies big and small feels incredible. The martial arts animations flow beautifully, slashing away at enemies as you try to figure out their attack patterns.

You have your trusty block, although you need to parry attacks that flash blue, and perfect dodge those that flash red. Each time you nail the timing, the action slows and Soul, your protagonist, flips and twists in a puff of smoke to turn the tide of the fight. Every success, from the moment you wake in the Weeping Creek Valley until the spectacular final fight, is so satisfying.

A lot of the fights require the same tactic: parry attacks until you ‘guard-break’ the enemy, then unload your arsenal on them while it regenerates. Rinse and repeat until they’re dead… or their second phase begins. While that may sound simple and repetitive, the variety in foes and their attacks keeps it from being so. You’ll engage in standard hand-to-hand combat, sword vs sword, but will also have to dodge the likes of huge laser beams, hundreds of blades raining from the sky, leaps across arenas, and countless other unique attacks.

This is where Phantom Blade Zero’s suite of weapons comes in, too. While you start with a pretty standard sword, you eventually get access to a huge hammer, a mask that spits fire, chains with blades on the end, and even a sword that makes you drunk, and you must think about which is the best option for each fight.

One boss might be agile and disappear without a moment’s notice, so you need something quick to get those attacks in while the opportunity presents itself, while another might lumber about swinging a giant golden hammer, meaning something with a bit more weight makes sense. Some weapons break shields more easily, others inflict elemental damage, and yet more attack from all angles at once. Combine all that with a plethora of accessories to add little buffs, new effects that are unlocked as you level up weapons, and special weapons called Phantom Edges whose uses are replenished at each checkpoint bell, and there’s a huge amount to think about build wise, too.

Of course, boss fights come thick and fast, and they’re regularly the absolute highlights of the game. More than a few times, I sat in awe at the scale, spectacle, and cinematic style of a fight. Bosses move with a grace and speed that you often cannot match, flying around between attacks. You’ll battle everything from majestic puppets with wobbly swords on mountaintops to seven guys connected by red string in an encampment courtyard. Such encounters often don’t end at one phase, either. Two, or sometimes three phases are regular occurrences, making you panic after you celebrated emptying the boss’s first health bar. The fights often change drastically from one form to another, both in terms of the attacks you’ll face and the design of the boss, keeping you on your toes. S-Game helpfully allows you to restart a boss fight on whatever stage you died on, so you can pick up from the start of phase two when a death sends you running back from the bell.

Some of the showdowns are incredible both visually and in terms of gameplay. They’re breathless attempts to engineer that one moment to strike, building up enough damage for that final brutal finisher. The animations that S-Game has created, through meticulous motion-capture, are incredible. A handful of the boss fights are among the best I’ve played in any action RPG. I found myself getting excited for the next one, not only to see what they were, but to uncover what weapon I’d get access to in turn.

They can come out of nowhere, too. While you have the classic ‘guy waiting for you in the center of an obvious boss arena,’ you’ll also just be exploring a rooftop when an enemy will swing in unexpectedly and a boss fight will begin. One time, I wandered into a boggy part of a lakeside encampment, when suddenly a water creature sprang up from the depths and a boss fight began. It keeps you on edge and makes for some really fun and unique bouts.

The real genius of Phantom Blade Zero comes in the level design. Split into five main open areas, with a few additional, smaller ones, the environments are gorgeous. Even without a photo mode, I took some stunning screenshots just running around the world.

My screenshot folder showcases the incredible variety in locations across Phantom Blade Zero’s map. You’ve got a lush valley, a crimson forest (that’s literally the name of one area), snowy mountains, and a dense, decaying city. Even though a lot of the architecture is consistent, the tone and atmosphere of each locale is wildly different.

Each individual map, which all take about five hours to fully explore, follows the same progression structure. The adventure is told through semi-linear open-world exploration; the kind that’s synonymous with Metroidvania games. There are interesting side quests and hidden collectibles aplenty, but the way forward for the main quest is obvious. You’re introduced to new areas by the story, each location split up into lots of smaller ones you can only get to if you continue down the main path.

Bramble is cleared by a boss’s flame mask, a secret Phantom Edge removes dense fog, and the first big foe’s dual-wield chain blade allows you to grapple to certain points. There’ll be plenty of times in which you’ll stumble across a blockade, only able to get past when you beat the relevant boss and grab their weapon some ten or 20 hours later. Exploration is kept fresh by the various weapon and tool hybrids, as well. Different Phantom Edges have differing uses depending on the location, so traversal maintains a level of surprise. Drastically different traversal mechanics are even introduced to help you get around one of the more expansive locations later in the game.

It’s pretty standard Metroidvania stuff, but it works wonderfully in Phantom Blade’s dense and beautiful world. It’s not something I expect from my action RPGs. I found myself combing every inch of the game’s explorable area to find every document and every chest full of upgrade materials, just in case there was a surprise hidden away. There are plenty of surprises, too. Fun hidden bosses and challenges can be uncovered on every map, with themes running through each of them. Some frame rate issues and stuttering in one of the game’s maps, which S-Game tells me will be fixed by the game’s launch, were the only stumbling blocks to exploring to my heart’s content.

Elsewhere, Phantom Blade Zero is immaculately polished. While the cinematic cutscenes draw the eye, there are playful touches throughout. A handful of hand-drawn animation flashbacks are particular highlights, and I’d love to see more of the world in that style. There are welcome other touches too, such as the world maps being hand-drawn rice paper versions to match the game’s background and style.

While full of words and phrases that seem like nonsense on their own (transcension, maskwalkers, and various others), Phantom Blade Zero’s story feels confident in its originality. The tale of Soul can be a little tricky to follow at times, asking you to work out a small puzzle of who’s who and what they’ve done, but it has an emotional payoff that turns the flair up to the max. Whatever you do, try your best to get the perfect ending; it’s well worth the effort and time commitment.

Phantom Blade Zero sets up an IP and gaming series we’ll see a lot more from. Of course, it borrows aspects from some of the best games ever, but S-Game has created a truly original experience that feels incredible to play, looks stunning, and leaves you with a huge grin. It’s a new gold standard for action RPGs. Once it was over, I just wanted to keep exploring Wulin, fighting more incredible bosses along the way. Hopefully I get that chance sooner rather than later.

New World of Warcraft Midnight patch notes are good news for Druids and Mages, but Rogues face nerfs

We’re just over a week since Blizzard released World of Warcraft Midnight patch 12.1.5. Its narrative twists and turns have left the community deeply split over decisions to take some dramatic steps, and I find myself fascinated to see where we end up when the 12.2 update, Eclipse, arrives. Before we get there, however, the developer is readying a fresh round of class tuning, and has just boosted several specs with notable balance changes. If you’re coming back to retail in the wake of the WoW Forever beta wrapping up, you’ll want to take a look and make sure you’re up to date.

World of Warcraft Community Manager Bethany Hudson shares the new Midnight patch notes, which will come into action with the weekly maintenance and reset on Tuesday October 27. A few small changes of note have already been made in a hotfix, however, so let’s quickly touch on those first. Enhancement Shaman’s Surging Elements will now correctly appear when using the Cooldown Manager, and certain Warlock summons should no longer erroneously target enemies outside of combat.

Looking ahead to next week’s patch, it’s a fairly straightforward week. We start with Feral Druids, who get a 5% buff to all their damage in PvE. Restoration Druids, meanwhile, are being given some help to deal with burst damage in dungeons specifically, where they’ve been falling behind other healers. The healing on Verdancy goes up a hefty 60%, Regrowth by 10%, and Improved Swiftmend is raised from a 30% bonus to a 40% one. Again, these are all PvE-only adjustments.

Marksmanship Hunters were struggling to deal enough area damage, so they get 10% boosts to both Explosive Shot and Volley. Additionally, the damage increase applied to Aimed Shot and Rapid Fire by Trick Shots has been lifted from 75% to 85%. Fire Mages join Feral Druids on the simple-but-effective table of gaining 5% damage across the board in PvE. Finally, Affliction Warlocks will deal 20% more damage with Unstable Affliction (but not in PvP), and Destruction Warlocks are handed 20% extra output for Rain of Fire.

Subtlety Rogues, however, are our sole PvE nerf for the week, and it’s a pretty big one: all ability damage is reduced by 8%, and the increase from Trickster: Fazed is lowered from 7% to 5%. “The buff Subtlety received as compensation alongside changes in the 12.1.5 patch overshot expectations,” Blizzard explains, “so we’re rolling back a significant portion of that buff.”

There are broader changes across PvP, so if you’re looking to get involved in some competitive action you’ll want to study the full list. For a quick rundown, the buffs go to Devourer Demon Hunters, Preservation Evokers, Marksmanship Hunters, Frost Mages, Mistweaver Monks, Holy Paladins, Holy Priests, Assassination Rogues, and Restoration Shamans, while nerfs hit Unholy Death Knights and Fire Mages.

These World of Warcraft Midnight class tuning changes for 12.1.5 will go live with the weekly maintenance on Tuesday October 27. That gives you a couple of days to decide if you need to plan out any changes for the week to come. It’ll be fascinating to watch whether the population of the modern retail game shifts at all while we await the full launch of WoW Forever, which is now less than two weeks away.

The next Hearts of Iron 4 DLC gives an underrepresented WW2 player much more depth

We might be waiting a bit longer than normal for the next full-scale Hearts of Iron 4 expansion, but Paradox has been collaborating with established modders to bring a fresh overhaul to the Kingdom of Romania. Expanding on its focus trees to give the nation much more additional depth, this latest project will let you determine whether you favor traditional agriculture and your long-standing population, or push firmly for industry and expansion as you attempt to become a Balkan behemoth.

Here to walk us through what’s new in this Romania focus pack is modder ‘Norrman,’ who has been working alongside fellow developers ‘Marjin’ and ‘Alex’ on the project. They’ve been playing Hearts of Iron 4 “since about a month after the game’s release,” and have “a bit over four years” of modding experience with it. From the start of 1936, what was known as Greater Romania “was practically at the peak of their territorial expansion,” incorporating the likes of Hungarians, Bulgarians, Ukrainians, and Russians under their flag, Norrman explains. Integrating those people, however, would prove much more difficulty.

This creates a nation that both needs to prepare for various potential future conflicts across multiple fronts, and also is desperate to modernize and industrialize from an almost entirely rural, agriculture-led economy. The Romania focus pack aims to capture all these aspects within the scope of the grand strategy game. On the political side, you set out with alliances in your favor – both the Little Entente with Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia, and the Balkan Pact that incorporated Romania, Greece, Turkey, and Yugoslavia.

Before you can think about how you’re going to handle the countries around you, you’ll need to tackle the internal structure, and the split between the ‘Old Kingdom’ predating World War I, and the ‘New Kingdom’ of more recently acquired territories. Will you prioritize your history, or attempt to invest more heavily in supporting your newer regions? Norrman notes that historically, Romania’s approach was to shuffle rapidly through four distinct ideologies to meet its needs at each point in time, and the Historical branch of the tree supports this path.

The alternative option is to adopt a much more radical change. This could involve focusing on an expansion to the Iron Guard, Romania’s revolutionary, fascist faction, which would come at the expense of the existing monarchy. Success here would allow you to demand a referendum and force regime change, although it certainly won’t prove popular among certain parts of the country. From there, you’ll have two distinct paths, one of which is teased as a way to dominate the Balkans alongside any regions who share your ideology.

On the industrial side, you’ll need to decide how to pull Romania out of potential “economic turmoil.” Sticking to your established agriculture will benefit the nation’s people right now, and could firm up the foundations for future industrialization. But can you afford to wait that long? What if instead you push for immediate, rapid industry, aiming to secure your position in the geopolitical climate as quickly as possible even if it comes at the expense of short-term growth?

The Balkan Industrialist branch is designed to let you focus more on “navigating the political landscape or building up your military without getting bogged down in economic management.” It does this through a shorter but faster industry path, giving you the essentials right out of the gate at the cost of gambling on your long-term economic potential. Powerful early bonuses will bolster your production through peacetime while you focus on establishing your diplomatic presence. “Once war breaks out, Romania has unique ways to mobilize its industry to face the storm head-on.”

If you prefer to dig in a little deeper and aren’t afraid of the more complex side of HoI 4 economics, you can embrace Romania’s legacy as the “Breadbasket of Europe.” There’s a major mechanic involved here that Paradox isn’t giving away quite yet, though Norrman notes the system “was adjusted and improved based on your feedback.”

What you will definitely be able to do is establish reforms to allow army recruits to return to farming during peacetime, lifting some of the friction between agriculture and military. You’ll find fewer ‘free’ factories, but can earn “massive bonuses to trade and plenty of extra building slots.” You’ll also have “the freedom to greatly shape your own late-game economy,” providing you can buy yourself the time to make enough investment here without being forced to change your path in response to conflict.

The Hearts of Iron 4 Romania focus pack isn’t dated yet, but it should be arriving fairly soon. In the meantime, you can expect further details from Paradox talking about more alternate-history paths, and how the military branch can shift industry in order to handle the outbreak of war. Once it releases, however, you might be waiting a little while for what’s next, as Paradox plans to “take extra time” for its next expansion to ensure it’s up to scratch.

Creative Assembly clarifies gen-AI stance, and admits it “took its eyes off” Total War Shogun 2’s Complete Edition

Total War Shogun 2 developer Creative Assembly has just delivered an update on the ongoing fiasco around the Complete Edition, which was released last week before being unceremoniously pulled from sale just days later. There’s no news yet on if or when the overhauled version of the iconic strategy game will return, but Total War Vice President Roger Collum explains how it got to such a dismal state. He also clarifies the studio’s stance on the use of generative AI and other AI tools, stating it “does not believe in a world where technology replaces the creativity of humans.”

Collum explains that the Total War Shogun 2 Complete Edition was developed by an external studio. Alongside CA, the Steam page lists its other developer as Mataboo, a Warsaw-based studio specializing in ports and co-development. “This was not a Creative Assembly developed game. It wasn’t subject to our same internal reviews and quality assurance. We took our eyes off its external development, with all our teams focused on our next big projects.

“However, whatever the development arrangements, Total War is our franchise and our name is on it,” he concludes. “The studio is full of craft people who care deeply about the experiences we give to our players. Shogun 2 CE did not meet that bar. We have to own that and we have to fix it.” Collum says a “small team of senior developers” has been put together to work with both Sega and its external developer on the next steps, though says he can’t provide details on what this looks like yet.

“I get many of you are angry and disappointed,” he states. “We are too – especially the team members who have put everything into Total War games for years, some even decades.” He asks players not to direct their frustrations towards specific individuals within Creative Assembly. “As a team, we want to be transparent with our communications as much as possible, but that cannot be at the expense of the safety of our people.”

Collum adds, “When the team does well, it’s all about them. When we get it wrong, it’s on me. You absolutely have the right to be mad, and to criticize us, but direct it at me. We know we must earn your trust by making good games, and crucially, by how we respond when we get things wrong. We’re human, we will get things wrong, and I promise as long as I’m here, when that happens, we’ll hold our hands up and try to make it right.”

He also addresses player concerns about potential generative AI use. The game’s Steam page did not declare any such tools, but questions have been raised about the look of certain areas of Shogun 2’s Complete Edition, including unit frames and cutscenes. “At Creative Assembly we do not use generative AI to create game assets, including AI-generated art,” Collum writes. “We demand the same of any external developers we work with. The situation with Shogun 2: Complete Edition is being investigated.”

Collum does note that the studio allows devs to “use AI tools where they help our craftspeople do their best work.” He clarifies further: “For me, the principle is pretty simple: AI can support the creator. It shouldn’t replace the creator. I don’t believe that AI can replace the human experience, judgment, and creativity that awesome experiences come from.” He believes, however, that AI tools can “absolutely” assist “analysis, debugging, or speedy prototyping so our experts can focus on making incredible games.”

For the time being, that’s all CA has to say, although Collum promises, “We’ll talk to you again when we have something meaningful to tell you.” For the time being, the original version of Total War Shogun 2 has returned, although this whole situation has left a tarnished mark on what was previously one of the best-regarded entries in the series. No matter how well CA manages to polish the situation, I’m not sure that will ever be completely scrubbed out.

Cyberpunk 2077 modders are making Night City more like GTA 6

With GTA 6 promising a more grounded take on criminal life, there are months of uncovering every detail ahead. It’ll also likely set a new precedent for realism, just like Red Dead Redemption 2 before it. Now, two Cyberpunk 2077 mods are giving Night City a taste of the Rockstar Games treatment, complete with working gas stations and a familiar-looking wanted system.

Both Cyberpunk 2077 mods come from Nexus Mods creator ‘charlotte27k’, who’s found a couple of ways to make CD Projekt Red’s RPG feel more like a GTA-style adventure. First up is a Fuel System mod, which does pretty much what it says on the tin. Every vehicle gets its own fuel tank, with consumption increasing as you put your foot down. Take it easy around the city, and you’ll stretch your range, but floor it on the highway, and you’ll burn through your supply faster. Run dry, and your engine stalls.

Thankfully, you won’t have to abandon your wheels and haul ass across Night City. The mod lets you refuel and repair vehicles at gas station pumps throughout Night City and the Badlands, or buy jerrycans for tight pinches. Prices even vary by district, ranging from 2.5 eddies per litre in City Center to 4.5 in Dogtown. It also brings a fuel gauge, vehicle condition indicator, and map pins to help you find the nearest station.

The second mod is a refresh of the HUD and mini-map, taking inspiration from a different part of the GTA experience. It overhauls Cyberpunk 2077’s interface with a wide, borderless minimap in the bottom-left corner, GPS directions, and a vehicle information card displaying your vehicle model. There’s also a row of wanted stars in the top-right corner, complete with flashing animations when police lose sight of you.

Considering that Cyberpunk 2077 already has thousands of mods available for it, this is just one small facet of tweaking into the experience you want. There’s even a multiplayer mod, if you fancy it. Whether you’re running from the NCPD or pulling into a gas station for a top-up, these mods offer another excuse to revisit Night City. Not that you needed one anyway.

The Finals Season 12 lets Scotty roast you by name, and I’m not sure we’re ready

There are mere seconds left on the clock to secure the Cash Out. With some gusto and confidence, my squad attempts to pull off one last steal. In the cans of my headset, seasoned The Finals pro and in-universe announcer Scotty shouts out the devastating villain who sent me back to the lobby. His name? The Jonkler. In Season 12, Embark Studios is making this a reality.

Much has been said about The Finals’ use of text-to-speech technology. Embark uses samples from paid actors to generate new dialogue, ranging from in-game callouts to commentary on events unfolding across the arena. So far, it’s pretty repetitive, and you’ve likely heard every pun under the sun from June and Scotty. The FPS’ latest seasonal update lets Scotty shout out usernames, marking the start of a push to expand the game show premise.

Under the moniker of ‘dynamic commentary,’ Audio Director Carl Strandberg says “your name can become part of the show.” When players do something noteworthy, Embark’s TTS system will recognize usernames in a set number of scenarios, in real time. “Keeping it narrow means we can curate what he [Scotty] actually says, [and] make sure it sounds good,” Strandberg adds.

It’s a curious move, considering Embark is making a push for more human performances in Arc Raiders, starting with the overhaul of NPC Celeste. Dynamic commentary also raises questions about safeguards. It’s only a matter of time before someone tries to get Scotty to say something unsavoury. Embark has likely considered this, but we’ve already seen similar technology cause problems when Epic Games experimented with AI Darth Vader in Fortnite.

Limiting commentary to specific scenarios should help, but how well those safeguards hold up once players start testing the boundaries remains to be seen. Dynamic commentary is just one part of Season 12, which launches on Tuesday, October 20. The update introduces the Mimic Device and Translocator gadgets. Solo Showdown also arrives, bringing a 12-player tournament mode with three randomly selected rounds across eight mini-modes.

Embark is also upgrading destruction physics, allowing structures to bend, sag, and collapse more naturally. Smoke will react to forces in the arena, while improved footsteps should make tracking enemies easier. Whether Scotty calling you out by name becomes a match highlight or a new way for opponents to make you look daft, it’s certainly worth keeping an ear out for.

Evil Empire “will always miss Dead Cells,” but it’s already working on its dream collab

Ken coolly serves the hottest news stories and has played, we think, every game ever made.

Published: October 18, 2026

For a studio forged to support an existing game, Evil Empire has come a long way. The team started life as four co-founders working on Dead Cells while the rest of Motion Twin went on to build Windblown. Success saw it grow to 15 developers at first, and then eventually 50 with the launches of The Rogue Prince of Persia and, most recently, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. Speaking to CEO Thomas Pfeiffer and Head of Business Ben Laulan, I ask what the future holds next, and whether they ever look wistfully back.

It’s been just over two years since the team called time on the game it was born to make, so does Evil Empire ever feel the pull to return to the roguelike that started it all? “I think we’ll always miss Dead Cells,” Laulan responds, “because it was the game that allowed us to found Evil Empire, you know, and allowed us to be where we are today with this incredible team.” Both Pfeiffer and Laulan were at Motion Twin for several years prior to the creation of the spin-off studio, which has since evolved into a beast of its own.

“I think there is a part of us that will always say, ‘Oh we miss having fun with Dead Cells,'” Laulan continues. “But now we are looking at the future, you know, and we have many productions on our hands. We have this live-ops division that we are pumping up with Brotato and potentially other partners. So yeah, I guess it’s in-between. We miss it; it’s more nostalgia, I guess.”

“We miss it, but [moving on] was also the opportunity for us to consider doing something on our own,” Pfeiffer tells me. “It’s part of our story, so there is some frustration a bit here, but still, we are happy to find a way to create our own games.” He smiles: “Maybe the dream will be to create a live-ops team for an IP we created ourselves at some point, have fun with new teams and live the dream with our own product, or maybe another game we are making.”

“To be the reason for the creation of the new Evil Empire-like that does support for our game,” Laulan chimes in, sparking a burst of laughter. “Yeah, it would be weird,” Pfeiffer responds, “but interesting to consider. But no, it’s okay,” he says of moving on from Dead Cells. “It was a good moment.”

After Prince of Persia and Castlevania, I ask the obvious question: does the team have a ‘dream collaboration,’ one it would snap up in a heartbeat if it were offered? The pair immediately grin at one another. “Yes, and we are already working on it,” Laulan says, laughing. “We’re too early to talk about it, but yeah, we’re extremely excited, and the dream continues.”

Evil Empire seems very much to have found itself in the position to snap up such projects. The pair both appear to be happy in that spot, and are eager to encourage other teams to do the same. The added benefit is that it allows the studio to continue to grow and evolve with safer projects until the time is right for something original. “One thing we are after is to create the best team we can,” Pfeiffer remarks. “That’s why we are very happy to preserve the knowledge we have for many years now, and to improve again and again.”

Pfeiffer hopes that at some point the team will be ready to create its own original game together, but stresses, “We have fun doing games as we do right now. It’s not a big deal. It’s just that at some point, as a studio, you need to create your own way to create money, to create value, and maybe to go and take more risks. For that, having your own IP is a dream. But we have time to reach it – it’s not the main thing. Making good games is the focus.” Laulan nods, adding, “It’s hard enough as it is.”

Evil Empire is now big enough to tackle multiple projects at once. In addition to running the Triple-i Initiative to help showcase fellow indie games, Pfeiffer says you can “imagine us working on two or three games in parallel at different stages.” Seeing his and Laulan’s enthusiastic reaction to that ‘dream project’ has certainly made me curious to find out more about what it could be, although judging from their response I suspect we’ll be kept in suspense for at least a while longer yet.

Grab ten Steam games including Blue Prince, Peak, and Vampire Crawlers for just $25

Not sure what to play this weekend? Why not round out your Steam collection with ten fresh games at a dramatic saving, all while helping a good cause? The ‘Play For Every Child’ bundle is offering ten games, including 2025 puzzle sensation Blue Prince and Peak, one of last year’s most beloved co-op games. The total value on offer comes in at $238.46 / £200.60, but you’ll be paying just $24.99 / £19.99, making it an approximately 90% saving.

This Steam bundle comes from UK-based nonprofit PlanetPlay, with all net profits raised through sales going to support UNICEF, which provides aid to children across the world. The highlight of the package for me has to be Blue Prince, which tasks you with navigating your way through a mansion to find its hidden 46th room. The caveat is that you can only progress so far each day, and when you sleep the entire layout shuffles. It’s one of the most beautifully layered puzzle games I’ve played in years, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

Also of note is Peak, Aggro Crab’s team mountain-climbing adventure. It’s quick to pick up and an absolute delight with a good group. For more multiplayer chaos, you could get into the varied minigames of Room Battle. Then there’s Vampire Crawlers, which transforms the wave-based survival of Vampire Survivors into a roguelike deckbuilder with just as much compelling gradual progression and ludicrous, screen-filling combo potential.

If you’re in an explorative mood, the atmospheric Bahamut and the WaqWaq Tree sees you diving through a cosmic sea inspired by Arabian mythology. Similarly soothing is Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, a musical jaunt across the world of Finnish author Tove Jansson’s iconic Moomins. Or, if your idea of relaxation is found at greater speeds, Train Sim World 6 lets you run a range of railway services around all manner of environments.

Feeling a little more competitive? Assetto Corsa Competizione will let you take to the track in a faithful rendition of the GT3 championship, complete with all the real-world drivers, teams, cars, bells, and whistles. For something more extreme, there’s the biking, skateboarding, snowboarding, wingsuits and more of Ubisoft’s Riders Republic. Last but certainly not least, Everything is Crab puts an evolutionary twist on horde survival with the ability to adapt your critter in myriad ways to hold out against the best nature throws at you.

The PlanetPlay Play For Every Child charity bundle gives you ten games for $24.99 / £19.99, with 100% of net profits going to UNICEF. It lasts until Friday October 23 at 8am BST / 9am CEST. PlanetPlay notes that availability is limited, however, so if you’re interested in the offer I’d recommend picking it up while you can.

Blue Prince alone is worth the entry price, especially when it comes with supporting a good cause; it ranked a close second on PCGamesN’s 2025 Game of the Year list. Toss in Peak and Vampire Crawlers, and you’re already set, although it’s worth noting that every single game here is rated at good to great by Steam players. You might just find a new favorite.

Half-Life inspired survival game Abiotic Factor has a packed year ahead, and it deserves even more love than it gets

Whether you’re a big fan of co-op friendly survival crafters, an enthusiastic enjoyer of the late ’90s and early ’00s aesthetic of the original Half-Life, or simply on the hunt for something new to play, it’s time for me to recommend Abiotic Factor once again. This gleeful creation from Deep Field Games draws inspiration from Valve’s iconic shooter to drop you into a secret paranormal research facility gone horribly wrong, and it’s one of the best survival games on Steam. If it’s been on your wishlist for a while, now’s a great time to start, as we just got a look at the Abiotic Factor year two roadmap.

Abiotic Factor might be wrapped in loving nods to Half-Life, but you don’t need to be a fan of that series to find plenty to love here. Trapped between invading entities and a military sect looking to quietly shut everything down, your job is to do your best to stay alive and bring a stop to the supernatural happenings across the GATE’s network of laboratories. It’s got excellent visual design, a wide range of weird and wonderful threats, plenty of robust tools and equipment to build, kit out, and decorate your base, and a charming sense of humor. You don’t earn a 96%-positive Steam rating from almost 30,000 reviews for nothing.

For now, we get to see just the first three of four planned stages on the new roadmap. It all starts with Community Update 5 – Deep Field’s latest iteration of its player-driven overhauls aimed at tackling the biggest and most fun requests. The big headline inclusion this time is the Mod Editor, which will introduce official mod support for Abiotic Factor.

The Mod Editor will be a separate, standalone app provided to players for free, and mods you create can be shared through an in-game mod management menu that will be accessible right from the starting screen. Whether you’re looking to craft entirely new items, weapons, and gadgets, or have more of a mind to build additional enemies, NPCs, pets, and other entities, you’ll be able to do so with ease.

Alongside this, Community Update 5 will also bring “advancements to the quest system,” starting with “its first field tests on existing questlines.” There will be another pet to discover, described as a “foggy friend,” a whole heap of item balancing and damage reworks based on player feedback, and the ability to wear ties around your head like a bandana for the true ‘office worker turned violent combatant’ vibe.

Following that, next on the list is the Winter Update, which will likewise be free for all players. This seasonally themed selection will bring a Brewing Bench to add to your base, a Tree Grow Plot where you can cultivate crops such as apples, and some Festive Feast recipes. Deep Field hints that it has a few more surprises up its sleeve here as well.

After the Winter Update comes the second Abiotic Factor paid DLC, Entropic Break. If you’re feeling a little sick of claustrophobic corridors and the frosty biomes of large sections of the existing base, this tropical adventure is the answer. It’ll take us to the GATE Leaf Test Facility, where you can explore forgotten islands and dive into the crisp ocean waters. Don’t get too relaxed, though, or you might find yourself flung into the Flesh Dimension.

Entropic Break will include at least one more new sector alongside the Leaf Test Facility, and multiple portal worlds, including the game’s biggest yet. There will be fresh enemies, items, quests, and even a special crossover. On top of that, a free update will be launching at the same time as the DLC that will include a bunch of extra additions: “boats, pets, fish, and more.”

Last on the list is one additional item although it’s just listed as ‘Classified’ for the time being. “More info coming soon,” Deep Field teases, “You’ll just have to wait.” That’s fine by me, because there’s already more than enough here to keep me satisfied in the meantime. As I stressed up front, Abiotic Factor is an absolute treat. It’s best with friends, but still a good time running solo, and if you start now you’ll have plenty to look forward to.

Runescape Reignited’s cancellation is the right move, despite my own hype

Less than two weeks after it was announced, Runescape Reignited has been officially canceled by developer Jagex. Described as a “relaunch of the game we all love,” it would have introduced a new, separate economy for players who wanted to start from scratch as if the MMORPG was released for the first time today. As someone who’s mostly watched from the outside, I was actually quite excited for the prospect of kicking off an adventure alongside fellow fresh starters. As sad as I am to see the project canned, however, it was absolutely the right move.

Runescape’s Associate Creative Director Ryan Philpott, known as ‘Mod Ryan’ to the community, confirms that Jagex made the decision to cancel Runescape Reignited after listening to the community response. The new twist was announced during the recent Runefest 2026 festival alongside a big roadmap for both the modern game and OSRS, and the reveal that the studio was working on a new MMO tentatively described as Runescape 4. Philpott thanks the community for “all the feedback since the announcement.”

“We truly appreciate everyone sharing their views,” Philpott continues. “It is super important to us because the last time we didn’t listen to player feedback, combat changed forever, and it has taken us over a decade to recover from that. I said on stage that we would not repeat the same mistakes of the past, and I truly stand by that. Considering this, we have made the decision to cancel Reignited.”

What went wrong? Reignited sounds great from the outside, but it created a massive rift in the community. The big frustration came from existing players who have stuck with the game in recent years, who felt they were being left out in the cold. The choice became to leave all your efforts and unlocks behind and join the ranks of the fresh starters, or stay in the current version of Runescape and face a gradual slow demise, caused by Reignited siphoning any potential newcomers into an entirely separate economy.

“It is clear that we missed the mark,” Philpott says, explaining, “Our goal is to see Runescape grow again, with returning players coming back and new players joining, but never at the expense of our existing community.” That’s doubly important because Runescape 3 (to give it the full name no-one really uses) has been on a notable upwards trend of late, thanks to what the developer has dubbed its “Road to Restoration.”

Over the past year, Jagex has killed Runescape’s controversial Treasure Hunter system, admitting the microtransaction-driven feature “eroded integrity.” It moved away from Auras to let players breathe easy without worrying about wasting time if you aren’t logging in each day and making the most of limited bonuses. Following those changes, it implemented a fresh combat overhaul, then deployed a visual upgrade, and most recently improved player housing.

Reignited aside, the rest of the Runescape roadmap revealed at Runefest is sounding great. Three major story arcs are coming over the course of the next year, including a sequel to the Dragon Slayer questline, and a journey into the City of Gnomes. There’s the arrival of Grandmaster Clue Scrolls, a community skilling boss, and an upcoming raid, not to mention all manner of other continued improvements.

The future for Runescape 3 players is a bright one, and there’s a general consensus, even among the noise regarding Reignited, that all of Jagex’s other announcements are exciting. As such, it’s absolutely not the time to suddenly introduce a separate economy that feels as though it’s throwing all those eager veteran players under the bus in an attempt to bring in newcomers, even if it leaves those potential players disappointed. Philpott admits it “overshadowed what we believe is one of the best roadmap reveals in memory.”

There will still be reasons to start. Speaking to those who might have been tempted by Reignited, Philpott says, “I personally would like to reach out and maintain that invitation. Despite these changes to the plans, I truly believe that December remains a fantastic time to start or continue your journey in Runescape.”

He points to features such as the new Adventure Guide, designed to make onboarding smoother, and the first part of the Remastered Journey, both of which are set for December 2. Alongside this will be the ten-day free trial, which will still take place despite the removal of Reignited. Additionally, Runescape plugin support begins on Monday October 19, offering more ways than ever to customize how you play – expect more details on this when it arrives.

The Runescape free trial will take place from Wednesday December 2 until Saturday December 12. All new characters will be eligible, as will any existing accounts that have not held membership since at least June 2, 2026. You’ll be able to freely access all modern Runescape Members worlds and content (but not OSRS) during this period.

“If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to get your friends to give Runescape a try, this will be it,” Philpott asserts. “No split worlds. Just you, me, and the many players coming in, playing the game we all love, together.”

Cities Skylines 2’s new theme park and zoo DLC will also make the base game stronger

New Cities Skylines 2 DLC Park Adventures is set to be released by the end of 2026, and it’s a promising-sounding upgrade to the gradually recovering city builder. Developer Iceflake Studios, now approaching a year in charge since taking over from Colossal Order, is planning an expansion that will let you build all manner of entertainment and leisure spaces around your neighborhoods. While that’s already good news, the studio also wants to make clear that “a lot of work we have been doing is coming to the base game as well,” and that includes a leisure rework.

Park Adventures promises to bring a lot more joy to Cities Skylines 2. You’re able to choose between amusement parks, zoos, city parks, and nature reserves, but Iceflake says it “did not want the park area itself to dictate which one you are making.” Instead, you’re free to incorporate whichever buildings, facilities, and rides take your fancy, and as you expand it out, the choices you make will determine how your citizens treat the location.

Alongside this, the team decided to overhaul both how leisure works more broadly in CS2, and also how your citizens choose and use their destinations. It stresses in a new development blog that both these upgrades “will be available to everyone, whether you own Park Adventures or not.” It adds that you can also expect “plenty of visual and other improvements to the base game,” including some aspects that “reach beyond parks themselves.”

Today’s focus, though, is on the redesign of CS2’s leisure systems. “The existing system is quite straightforward,” Iceflake notes: Citizens determine the kind of activity they’re after and choose a suitable destination, typically based on distance. “Once they have done that, there isn’t much reason for them to reconsider this decision,” it explains. “Of course, that doesn’t leave much room for the idea of actually spending time in a park, which became a problem.”

Initially, the team experimented with the idea of each individual visitor having their own personal preferences across categories such as excitement, socialization, and relaxation, with certain ages or social groups favoring particular forms. “This sounded interesting on paper, but it quickly created other problems. If a visitor had a very specific preference and the park didn’t contain exactly what they wanted, they would always be disappointed.” It also resulted in too much micromanagement and was skewed due to adults making up 60-70% of the typical population.

Now, the system looks more at the park as a whole, but still leaves room for individual visitors to make decisions while they’re there. As for how those decisions are made, both in terms of the DLC and the wider game, distance will now be a slightly less defining factor. “If one destination is already crowded, a citizen may decide that another park is a better choice, even if it’s a little bit farther away. Not only that, but the condition and the quality of the leisure destinations also affect the experience.”

As citizens move through a park, they’ll look at factors such as how far away a particular attraction or amenity is, whether there are long queues, and whether there are similar facilities available in close proximity. Should those factors change as they approach, it might alter their plans. “Restaurants are treated more like attractions,” Iceflake points out, “while amenities fulfill the secondary needs that can arise during a visit.” These will potentially affect the rating and feedback you receive.

Iceflake has also worked to improve “the visibility of everyday life in the city.” Along with watching your citizens travel, you’ll be able to see them “actually stop, interact with their surroundings, and spend time in public spaces.” Leisure is the ideal starting point to implement this, the developer writes; in Park Adventures you’ll visibly see people queuing for attractions, sitting on rides, and watching the animal exhibits.

“This same thinking also led to interactive props,” Iceflake continues, describing a new concept it calls ‘Divert logic.’ “Before leaving home, a citizen does not necessarily decide that they absolutely must sit on one particular bench. Instead, if they are already travelling somewhere and encounter a suitable interactive prop along the way, there is a chance that they stop and use it before continuing on their original journey.”

These are small touches, but ones that really bring a bustling city to life – making it feel like a place filled with personality rather than a simple churn of numbers and statistics sliding around your infrastructure empire. “It is still very much a work in progress,” the team writes, so we are not going to promise that every prop in the game is suddenly going to have citizens climbing all over it, but the underlying technology is there, and this gives us a starting point for expanding these kinds of interactions in the future.”

“A large part of the work has been about making leisure something that the citizens actually do, rather than simply a destination to visit before heading home,” Iceflake concludes. Returning to the example of the DLC, the team says, “We want the park to make sense as a simulation, but we also want the result of that simulation to be visible. If a park is full of attractions, but everyone simply walks to one building and then goes home, a lot of the work happening under the hood is not particularly interesting to watch.”

The Park Adventures DLC for Cities Skylines 2 is set to release in the fourth quarter of 2026. Whether you get it or not, the hope is that you can expect to feel notably more personality in town. “While Park Adventures is about creating parks and giving citizens new places to visit, the work around it has ended up touching a much wider part of the game.”

New Minecraft update adds extra danger to the Ice Caves, and a handy music playlist

A new Minecraft update has just brought some extra peril to the Ice Caves biome. Mojang’s fourth game drop of the year has now been in testing for a couple of weeks, and the latest Java snapshot and Bedrock preview builds have just arrived, introducing the particularly fragile Brittle Ice block. Alongside that, the new patch notes for the sandbox game include some additional balance changes to the Freezing status effect, and also make Jukeboxes more useful than ever.

Introduced with Minecraft update 26.4 snapshot 4, Brittle Ice is another unique block type that can be found in the new Ice Caves biome. At a glance, you might confuse it for Frosted Ice, but the two work rather differently, with Brittle Ice breaking as players or mobs stand on top of it, with the sole exception of the new Frostbite Zombie. Each stage of cracking takes 1.2 seconds, and after the third it will break completely. This also happens when standing no more than a quarter-block above it, so you can hide a potential trap with carpets, cushions, or a couple of snow layers to catch someone off guard.

Stepping off a Brittle Ice block will stop the cracking process, but the block cannot repair itself over time. Additionally, when one breaks, it will cause any adjacent Brittle Ice blocks to crack one stage further than their current status. Unlike Frosted Ice, however, Brittle Ice does not melt when near light sources, and it won’t leave water behind when it breaks. You can collect it using a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch, and it’ll generate if flowing water passes a Blue Ice block, so it’s easy to set up a quick farm.

Alongside this comes the addition of Jukebox playlists, a feature I’m surprised we’ve never had before now that it’s here. By placing a Chest on top of a Jukebox and filling it with Music Discs, it’ll play them in the order they’re laid out. When one track finishes, it’ll be automatically swapped out for the next one. Should you manually eject a disc, it’ll move onto another in similar fashion. There’s no manual skip button for now, but players are already inventing clever ways to build one using minecarts.

The patch notes also include a few other minor tweaks and balance changes. Zombies, Drowned, and Husks are now all immune to the Freezing status effect and will not take any damage from it. Drowned who find themselves among Powdered Snow will now turn into a regular Zombie, before then transforming into a Frostbite. Furthermore, Frosted Ice blocks will now cause a vibration event when they change state due to melting.

Minecraft update 26.4 Java snapshot 4 and Bedrock preview 26.70.20 are now live. You can access them by selecting the appropriate game version via the Minecraft launcher. I’m already looking forward to what people can do with these new additions, particularly when it comes to introducing fresh threats to adventure maps.

Valve just brought back the TF2 glory days with its new Deadlock hero

A new Deadlock update is here, and with it comes our fourth new hero from the City Never Sleeps lineup. Deadman Danny is an explosive skeleton with a jetpack, and you’ve probably seen him about before, as he’s the mascot for the Cursed Apple’s leading weapon vendor, Fairfax Industries. There’s no question that Valve has continued to cook with its creations: the exuberant newcomer feels like a blend of the Team Fortress 2 Soldier and Pyro, plus Pharah from Overwatch, and even brings a flashy Izuna Drop finisher to the battlefield. The result is a blast to play, and has earned the multiplayer game yet another player-count high.

Like many, I’ve been hoping and praying that Deadman Danny would finally introduce one of the most fun TF2 mechanics to Deadlock: rocket jumping. Those prayers have been fully answered with his Chimera Peace Bringer, which allows you to either fire off single shots with a tap of left-click, or hold it down to charge an explosive projectile. Blast this at your feet and you’ll send yourself soaring in the other direction, albeit at the cost of a little self-damage (though it can’t actually kill you). Crouch just beforehand and jump as it impacts to maximize your mobility through the MOBA’s map.

Danny doesn’t have to rely on this to get about, however – he has the Chimera Mk1 jetpack. This doesn’t use fuel, but instead builds up heat as you fire the jets. You can feather it to stay airborne for longer, but when it overheats Danny will divebomb to the ground, damaging himself and enemies before putting the device on cooldown. Hit no-one else, however, and he’ll be briefly stunned. Ranking it up causes the heat to vent faster when on the ground, and provides a bigger impact, reduced cooldown, and a heal in place of the self-damage when hitting an enemy hero.

Strix Salvo fires a line of spirit missiles ahead from your cursor location, which can be rotated just before you let them go. Any enemies they hit take damage and are marked with a yellow skull – land a charged shot on them to pop this for another burst of spirit damage and a short 40% fading slow. Those that miss will sit on the ground as mines for several seconds. Ranking it up lowers the cooldown, then boosts both the impact and mark damage, and finally upgrades the missile count, range, and spirit scaling.

Jettison Fuel sprays out a spurt of gunk that deals damage over time and shreds your targets’ bullet resist by 15%, before a final blast sends you flying backwards. Dealing damage with this also cools your jets, helping you use them for longer. As it’s leveled up, you’ll benefit from a shorter cooldown, then more backblast damage and a seven-second fire rate buff if it hits an opponent, and lastly an extra 10% bullet resist shred and the application of the Strix Salvo mark to enemies caught in the backblast.

Last but certainly not least, it’s time to Close The Deal. This brings up a tight ten-meter cone that lets Danny zoom up to an enemy and grab them, soaring high into the sky before crashing back down to the ground, Izuna Drop style. It hurts you a little, but not nearly as much as it does them, with damage scaling based on the distance you fall, and it’ll hit them 50% harder if they’re under half health, making it a great finisher. You also get some directional control if you want to swing them into your teammates or towers. Rank it up for bigger damage, a shorter cooldown, and a half-second stun upon impact.

Deadman Danny’s certainly a lot of fun to play, but he’s not a popular figure among the cast of Deadlock. As an enthusiastic company man, most of the other members of the roster seem to carry a particular distaste for him, with almost no-one responding to his eager prompts with anything resembling a similar level of glee. He’s certainly a good addition to the game, however, and feels like another thematic victory for Valve.

Deadman Danny is in Deadlock now. We’ve got just two more heroes to come, and as much as I’m intrigued by how Violet’s painterly kit will work, I’m still holding firm for my original pick of Nurse Harrow. The good news is that, no matter who wins, by this time next week both of them will have arrived anyway.

New March of Giants character Pandemos brings some serious toxicity to the MOBA’s playtest

Ubisoft Montreal has just unveiled a new addition to the March of Giants roster, and he’s a toxic terror capable of handing out both healing and harm across the upcoming Ubisoft MOBA. Like all giants, Pandemos was birthed from the nightmares of war. As deadly diseases and injuries overwhelmed the field hospitals of the Century War, doctors turned to increasingly experimental treatments to fight the Trench Plagues. The fear of those untested methods gave rise to a “cold and calculating giant,” who fights using the very afflictions swirling within his own body.

New giant Pandemos is a “plague doctor of pestilence,” and as his name suggests he’s all about spreading contagions, whether that’s through his allies or opponents. The latest playable character to join the March of Giants playtest, he might be mixing up “noxious concoctions of decay, rot, and infection,” but it’s not all bad news. While Pandemos is capable of being built as an area-of-effect damage dealer, or an agent of disruption and crowd control, he can also be used as a healer who works to keep his team alive.

Pandemos’s toolkit centers around his passive, Afflicted Regiment. This infects his rallied soldiers, who then spread it as they charge at giants, both slowing them down and making them more vulnerable to incoming Alchemical damage. His first ability is Miasmic Flask, where he tosses out a containment flask that damages and slows enemies. If it hits a target, the flask shatters, causing its toxic contents to spread further across the battlefield.

Cure Toxin lets Pandemos create a cloud of fumes that will cure himself or his allies, granting them both a heal and additional Alchemical resistance before spreading to other targets. Phobia Blight causes a virulent explosion after a short delay, both damaging its victims and inflicting fear upon them. Finally, his ultimate is The Vector Plague, which bounces between enemies. Everyone it hits is hurt and slowed, but also becomes distrusted by their own soldiers.

If you want to get your hands on Pandemos, the easiest way is to jump into the ongoing playtest, as he’ll be automatically unlocked for everyone who achieves ‘Pioneer Player’ status. This requires earning 1,000 Pioneer Points. You get 100 per win, and 50 for a loss, and can earn a booster either by watching March of Giants on Twitch or joining the official Discord. This multiplier starts at 20%, but will increase to 50% during the final days of the playtest.

Once unlocked, he’s yours permanently through all future playtests and early access. The March of Giants Pioneer Playtest runs until Sunday October 18, with Pandemos becoming available from Monday October 12. Head here to take part and give the newest giant a try.

The arrival of Pandemos brings the total giant count to 17, and combined with other new mechanics in the Pioneer Playtest you can see March of Giants really starting to take shape. While the MOBA space is notoriously tough to break into, Creative Director Xavier Marquis tells us he’s confident in replicating the breakout success he found as the former lead of Rainbow Six Siege.

How a League of Legends champion becomes a Riftbound card

A TCG-expert with a love for all things strategy, Matt can frequently be found downloading too many mods and then wondering why his games don’t work.

Published: October 12, 2026

Ever wondered how your favorite League of Legends character is converted from an avatar powered by your twitch reflexes and perfect awareness into a playing piece for the budding TCG Riftbound?

On the face of it, lane-based MOBAs and strategy card games share little DNA, so it seems like transporting the mechanics from one to the other, and still having the champions that so many fans have an attachment to feel true, would be a daunting challenge.

“There’s folks on my team who are very good at this, and I appreciate them every day,” says Dave Guskin, Riftbound’s Game and Design Director. He says it’s all about looking at the ‘kit’ of a League of Legends champion and figuring out what’s resonant, whether it’s Zed with his shadow stepping, or Miss Fortune and her bullets.

“If you can take that and translate it to some aspect of the way that their ‘kit’ plays in Riftbound, which is of course their whole deck, then I think you can start to get that correspondence.”

“It’s not always going to be an exact translation,” Guskin adds. “In League of Legends, Ezreal has a bunch of teleporty, really quick movement stuff. How do we represent that in Riftbound?

“Oh, quick movement between the battlefields… That’s not exactly one to one with the way mobility works in the MOBA, and so there’s a lot of testing that happens where we take mechanics we think might work, try to translate them into their card game equivalents, play them, see if they’re fun.

“Sometimes it’s like, no, this is not fun to represent this faithfully, and then we’ll try a different aspect of either their mechanical identity or sometimes their thematic identity.”

As an example of a design that had to go back to the drawing board, he gives Darius. “We tried some things with Darius with his execute that just felt very frustrating from the other side of the table, when Darius was executing you, and so we ended up putting that in his signature spell. You know, when it’s on a unit, it doesn’t necessarily feel fun.”

One challenge is that in LoL there are “tons of tunable” levers – cooldowns, minor stat tweaks – that don’t apply in Riftbound. A repeatable execute ability on a Darius Champion unit might feel bad. “Once you have this, you could use it over and over”.

As for a champion Guskin feels the team absolutely nailed, the designer lists Rengar. There’s not a specific mechanic we ported over, he says, but the way that Rengar plays definitely feels like he’s hunting you.

“It’s sort of built around this ambush mechanic, right? I can see that my opponent has their runes available. I’m terrified that he’s going to jump out of the bushes and slice me up. And that’s in fact what happens. It’s rewarding the same thing that Rengar mains would do in League of Legends.”

High-speed free Steam ARPG Torchlight Infinite’s new season lets you lock foes away to farm them for even more loot

A new Torchlight Infinite update is upon us, and that means it’s time for me to give some love to the continued work developer XD is delivering. It might not be the same Torchlight you remember from years ago, but the free Steam game is packed with lightning-fast action and a wide-reaching array of buildcrafting potential. XD’s seasons might be second only to Path of Exile in terms of the sheer quantity of additions you can expect, so if you’ve had your fill of Diablo 4 Season 15, or want to try another ARPG after Minecraft Dungeons, this latest overhaul could be the ideal time to jump in.

We’re now up to Torchlight Infinite SS14, dubbed the Tartarus Season. It’s named for its new core mechanic, which sees you managing a prison in the Netherrealm. As you defeat certain dangerous foes, you’ll be able to lock them up in the 16 cells housed there. Forget any semblance of inmate rights, because you’ll be having the beasts battle and consume one another to grow stronger. Ultimately, this culminates in a grand riot, where you’ll battle through the full roster of inmates to earn loot based on the monsters you’ve created.

Fighting through Tartarus can also drop Recommendation Letters, used to recruit Followers. These newfound allies can be hired and developed to complement your chosen build, with a range of offensive and supporting ‘Tartarus skills’ to learn. Many of the abilities they can learn will be twists on existing player options – Berserking Blade, for example, trades its higher damage out for an area debuff that will soften up enemy groups for you to demolish. The rarer ‘Origin Tartarus skills’ are more niche, but can be even more build-defining.

Joining the character roster this time is Youga’s third hero trait, The Ultimate One. He’s a malicious incarnation who’s using his Clockwork Core to travel between realities and absorb the powers of his own parallel selves. In gameplay, this manifests by allowing you to attach a chosen spell to the Core as a spell tangle, casting it in orbit around the device. Depending on how you build him, Youga can also grow into one of three different forms.

Spacetime Dictator creates a realm that traps spells inside, looping them repeatedly for added damage, while also delaying any damage you take – it can even stave off death. Spacetime Conqueror gains high mobility with teleports, while linking your foes together to cause all the damage you deal to spread between them. Spacetime Overlord uses the research he’s learned from his other forms to amplify spells into more powerful new variants. Alongside this new-look Youga, XD has also reworked Thea’s Wisdom of the Gods trait.

Previous seasonal mechanic Afterlight is moving into the core game, although XD has worked to improve the encounter flow, progression, and rewards. It also gets its own talent constellation, allowing you to determine how you prefer to approach the mode and what rewards you want to chase. You can even slow down the pace if you’re struggling to keep up, and then speed things up again as your build begins to come together.

You can expect the typical Torchlight Infinite seasonal rotations too, such as a fresh boss lineup in Supreme Showdown. There’s a new mechanic here called Star’s Fall, which requires you to bounce falling energy balls as you fight – you’ll gain bonus damage for successful hits, but miss one three times in a row and you’ll suffer a fatal blow. The endgame Netherrealm maps have also been rotated, with a focus on replacing more awkward, older locations and minimizing overlap.

Divine Ascent has been expanded to 150 floors, with a redesigned difficulty curve to avoid sudden jumps in gear requirements. You’ll also be able to jump up to five floors at a time if you clear a tier fast enough without any deaths, rewarding stronger builds. The Battle Pactspirit reward has been moved from floor 35 to floor 50, but Community Manager Andre explains that the reworked progression means you should expect about the same level of challenge to earn your prize.

We’ve still only just scratched the surface, as there are a whole heap more additions and adjustments to dig into. That includes more active and support skills (and support slots), updates to Renewed Memory and legendary gear, and continued visual improvements. Loot filter priority will dramatically speed up the rate drops appear by ignoring items that fall outside your requirements. XD has also continued to polish the likes of the friend list, trade house, character stat displays, item tooltips, and quick price-check features.

The Torchlight Infinite Tartarus season begins on Thursday October 15. You can play for free on Steam. Simply head here if you fancy blasting your way through the new update when it arrives.

If you’ve never tried TLI, I would recommend dipping in at least once. It can be a touch overwhelming at first, and its microtransactions can certainly provide a tangible advantage if you get to the high-end level. With that said, you can still get a lot of entertainment out of a season playing for free, and the core of the game is fun enough that I’d recommend it to someone looking for a frantic ARPG, as long as you keep those free-to-play caveats in mind from the start.

Wardogs Season 2 is an experimental effort in evolution, not revolution

Wardogs took seemingly no time to find its feet. Pre-release playtests exploded; players, streamers, and content creators flocked to it in droves – it was quite good. I enjoyed it immensely; a healthy dose of milsim without much of the faff that goes along with it. Effort is the reward in those types of games, and I enjoy a round or two of Arma from time to time, but occasionally I want my realism with a dose of immediate action.

Season 1 is nearly up, and what have we learned? Well, blue team struggles sometimes, players now have access to unheard-of levels of destruction, and gold prices aren’t what they used to be. A wipe is coming, though, and Bulkhead is looking for evolution with Wardogs Season 2, rather than revolution.

So, the nitty-gritty. Four new weapons will find their way into the hands of the players: TCX Spear, M14, PP-19 Bizon, and the Evo-3 Ultra. One for each of the main classes. Along with these, there is a suite of new attachments available, including new optics, muzzles, foregrips, and so on.

There are some new vehicles, too. A fast, wheeled transport called the Wolf-110, which comes in regular and assault versions, with the latter sporting an M2 Browning on top. There’s the T-72, a tank that is reportedly slower than the Leopard, but a lot cheaper. Lastly, we have the Flakpanzer Gepard, an anti-air vehicle, which is music to my ears.

For the builders amongst us, there are three new base options, including an MG Nest, a large shelter, and some wooden steps. If you need the last two explained, then I feel for you – the first is a machine gun emplacement, which in theory sounds great for base defense, but really sounds like a sniper’s dream.

Two more huge additions are coming; bear with me. Wardogs now has weather. It can rain, which not only offers a new visual experience, with everything being wet and all, but thunderstorms roll over the battlefield, potentially masking noise and light gunfire. A well-timed shot could stay unnoticed in these conditions, which is quite fun, isn’t it?

Last, but very much not least, there is the new Wager Vendor. For a game based around money, I’m surprised it took this long for gambling to show itself. It’s only based on your own performance, so there’s no real gaming the system here, but the Wager Vendor in base allows you to build a wager based on stuff you want to achieve (securing kills, taking towers, etc.). Add more things to the betting slip, and the return on your investment goes up, but then so does the difficulty. Could be huge; could result in me losing a lot of my in-game cash – who knows.

Perhaps the most appealing part of this update, however, is the ideology behind it: Bulkhead is not afraid of the meta; it embraces it, and perhaps wants to poke a few players in the side while it’s at it.

Wardogs is still in early access, and although the overall polish and presentation doesn’t scream of something still in development, the non-committal nature of this pre-1.0 means that Bulkhead can basically do whatever it likes. I mean, it can anyway, but anything that goes wrong can be attributed to the fact that the game isn’t actually out-out yet. I believe this is one of its biggest strengths.

Wardogs Season 2 is out Thursday, October 15, which is also when your bank account goes back to zero, so make sure you make the most of the last days and buy that tank. You deserve it.

I like the 2026 League of Legends Worlds anthem, but it isn’t the True Damage comeback I wanted

Lauren spends most of her time dead in League of Legends, or equally as dead in Valorant. Don’t ask her about Vampire: The Masquerade.

Published: October 9, 2026

League of Legends Worlds is a big deal for me. Year after year I tune into every match from start to finish, watching as new titans rise, old ones fall, and EMEA inevitably stumbles at the final hurdle. I crave the high highs and the low lows; the peaks and the troughs. But most of the time, I’m just excited to watch T1. They are, after all, the premier esports team.

Over the past few years, however, I’ve found myself feeling a little fatigued by Worlds; not by the tournament itself per say, but by the lack of real hype. Ever since Phoenix (and Take Over at a push), I haven’t really gelled with the League of Legends Worlds anthems, or Riot’s approach to their music videos. Star Walkin’, while a great song, isn’t a LoL track; Gods was fine; Heavy is the Crown was fine; Sacrifice was actively weak. It feels like Worlds anthems have slowly grown less interesting, meaning the hype, as a result, simply hasn’t been there.

True Damage had a relatively easy job this year: I don’t think anyone’s arguing that Sacrifice is a hard act to follow. Know My Name, while perhaps a little generic, is a pretty good track – it stomps Heartsteel’s latest, and certainly feels more anthemic than G.E.M’s anthem did. My issue with it is that this doesn’t really feel like True Damage’s ‘big comeback’ moment. Why? Well, the video’s about Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok. And also T1. But mainly Faker.

Faker is a staple in League of Legends esports videos – it makes sense, he’s the best LoL player ever. He’s in Rise, Phoenix, Take Over; the list goes on and on. In Heavy is the Crown, he’s effectively the main character, with somewhat odd features from Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong. In Know My Name, he may as well be the only character – True Damage themselves are, by and large, nowhere to be found. Instead, Know My Name serves as Faker’s greatest hits; an animated tour of his storied history.

That’s not to say that Faker doesn’t deserve this level of praise – he’s won ten LCK trophies, two MSIs, and six Worlds, three of which have been back to back, with this year being a potential fourth. But there are other League of Legends players. This year saw EMEA’s Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winter inducted into the Hall of Legends. There’s the likes of Kang ‘TheShy’ Seung-lok, Park ‘Ruler’ Jae-hyuk – players that have etched themselves into LoL esports history. Where are they? Cameos at best, excluded at worst.

What makes this even more confusing is that Worlds, this year, takes place across New York, Texas, and Los Angeles. Next year, it’s in Korea. Know My Name’s video doesn’t seem like it’s set in the US – there’s no Empire State Building, iconic NY skyline, or the lights at Santa Monica pier. There are no immediate references to any LCS players – you could argue ‘that’s because they suck, haha.’ But, this year, Worlds is in the US. The Korea focus feels odd, then; a celebration of Faker, T1, and their achievements would have made complete sense for 2027, but this year it just feels off.

Perhaps the saddest thing is that, between the Faker glory cuts and T1 celebrations, there’s little to no True Damage. They appear on billboards throughout and that’s it. Akali, Ekko, Qiyana, Senna, and Yasuo are backing singers when, in my mind, this was their big comeback. Heartsteel got their own, dedicated video; why haven’t True Damage?

Giants; POP/STARS; Mortal Reminder – all of these videos, while perhaps ‘cringe’ by modern standards, celebrated League of Legends champions and the music that they were supposedly creating. They had heart and spirit; they felt League of Legends. While Worlds Anthem videos have always focused more on the players, Phoenix, Star Walkin’ and Rise are all clever in their inclusion of League of Legends’ lore and world. Relegating True Damage to being dancing figures on billboards kind of feels like it misses the point of bringing them back in the first place. This isn’t a comeback: it’s a glorified cameo.

Now don’t get me wrong: I’m still hyped for Worlds. I’ll watch the games, scream ‘T1 fighting,’ and be amazed when Faker does Unkillable Demon King things. Know My Name isn’t a bad song; it’s still hype, and I genuinely love seeing True Damage again. It just feels like the wrong combination for the wrong Worlds.

What is the Monopoly Go Looney Tunes crossover?

Monopoly Go recently ran a collaboration event with Looney Tunes called Happy Harvest Season, which ran from July 29 to September 23, 2026.

Happy Harvest Season introduced two new ways to play. First was Infinite Harvest, an always-on feature where you grow crops as you make your way around the board, then harvest them for rewards. As your farm grew, iconic Looney Tunes characters like Bugs Bunny, Wile E. Coyote, and Tweety also made appearances, bringing plenty of playful surprises with them. The other new mode was Porky’s Cafe, where you collected ingredient stickers to fill recipe requests from various Looney Tunes characters, unlocking a bunch of cool cosmetics and rewards.

Throughout Happy Harvest Season, we also saw multiple Looney Tunes characters appear in different Monopoly Go events, as we teamed up with friends to build Looney Tunes-inspired attractions, competed in themed races, worked with other players to progress through cooperative levels, and unlocked limited-time rewards featuring Looney Tunes-themed collectibles and surprises such as Sticker Sets, Tokens, Dice, Shields, and Emojis.

While the main events are now over, you can still get involved in the Looney Tunes shenanigans by claiming your free Daffy Duck Shield above.

How do I redeem Monopoly Go dice links?

To use Monopoly Go dice links, you will need to be at least level 15 to unlock albums. Once you’ve reached this level, simply click on the links to claim in-game rewards.

Your browser will ask if you want to open the link in Monopoly Go. Agree to this, and the game will open up with a pop-up to show you exactly how many dice rolls you’ve received.

Are Monopoly Go dice links safe to use?

All the Monopoly Go dice links shared by PCGamesN are checked and safe to use.

We verify each link we share on this page by confirming that it works in-game before we make any updates to this guide.

There are shady websites that have disguised malicious websites as dice links. You can protect yourself by looking at the link before clicking it to verify that the website goes to mply.io – if it does, that means you’re heading to a link that will open up the Monopoly Go app.

Where can I find new Monopoly Go dice links?

PCGamesN is the best source, updated daily. Monopoly Go dice links are shared by the developers via the Monopoly Go Discord channel.

While you could subscribe to that channel yourself, you’ll be inundated with notifications every few hours. Instead, you can save yourself the hassle and bookmark this guide to quickly see if there are any new freebies on offer.

It’s important to note that Monopoly Go dice links are usually released daily, though we should stress that there can be a delay between content drops. The developers typically give out free dice rolls, but it’s not uncommon to receive free tokens and stickers in addition to the usual dice links.

  • Email – Connect your Monopoly Go account to your email and you’ll occasionally spot free dice roll links in your email inbox. Look under the Promotions tab on Gmail. Some users claim it can take between 2-4 weeks to get your first.

Why aren’t Monopoly Go dice links working?

If Monopoly Go dice links aren’t working, there’s a strong possibility that they may have expired. Dice links generally last for one day before expiring, so you need to be fast if you want to claim them all.

There’s also the possibility that you may have already redeemed the free dice. If this is the case, you should see a message appear that reads, “This reward has already been claimed.” Meanwhile, expired codes appear as “Sorry, this code cannot be claimed.”

If you’re getting an issue where the link isn’t launching the Monopoly Go app and is sending you to your platform’s app store instead, try redeeming them through a different browser, even if your current one has worked previously.

Expired links

We’re always tracking our list of active Monopoly Go dice links, so we’ll make it clear when new links have been added and remove any expired ones from the list.

Xbox shuts down GTA 6 PC rumors, as Rockstar’s latest doubles down on console launch

On Tuesday, October 6, it was reported that Xbox had secured exclusivity as the place to cloud stream GTA 6 on PC. However, since then, Xbox has confirmed that the report isn’t correct and that the game will be streaming exclusively to PC.

The initial report came from The Verge. Following Xbox CEO Asha Sharma’s internal briefing, in which she said the gaming division was doing something that “no other platform holder is doing” for GTA 6, The Verge reported that they’d heard from people familiar with Xbox’s plans that the statement was a tease of their PC streaming exclusivity for Rockstar’s upcoming game.

That would have been a huge win for Microsoft. Since the game is only launching on console on November 19, with the PC version expected to come at a later date, cloud streaming via Xbox’s service would have been the only way to play the game on PC. That would have meant people who only play their games on PC did, in fact, have a way to jump into Los Santos at launch.

It wouldn’t have allowed for any modding options, performance benefits, or changes you can normally make when you play a game on PC, but it would have been better than nothing or having to spend almost $1,000 on a new console.

Unfortunately, Matthew Ball, Xbox’s Chief Strategy Officer, has since posted on X to deny The Verge’s report. He wrote: “While the excitement for GTA 6 and Xbox is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We are looking forward to launching GTA 6 on Xbox November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC.”

That post suggests that Xbox won’t be the only way to stream GTA 6, and also that you won’t be able to stream the game to PC. Rockstar clearly doesn’t want the game to be playable on PC at launch, at least not natively, so it’d be a surprise for them to allow an exclusive streaming deal.

For now, we’ll have to wait and see what Sharma was talking about in relation to GTA 6. The GTA 6 release date is set for Thursday, November 19, so there’s not long to wait now.

Destiny 2 has over 10x more players than Marathon on Steam, despite end of service

Bungie’s newest FPS, Marathon, launched in early 2026 to wide acclaim, gaining a ‘Mostly Positive’ rating on Steam and a well-earned 8/10 from us in our review – but months after launch, the studio’s golden child, Destiny 2, is steamrolling (excuse the pun) the shooter in its concurrent player count.

Around the time of launch, FPS game Marathon hit an all-time peak of 77,358 players according to Steam Charts, with SteamDB citing it as 88,337. Comparatively, both cite Destiny 2’s Steam launch stats from 2019 – just shy of two years after release – as anywhere from around 292,000 to over 316,000. The now shuttered Highguard even punched slightly above Marathon’s total, capping out at over 97,000 on launch day according to SteamDB before quickly petering out (though Steam Charts has it listed at a much lower 13,115).

Fast forward to today, and despite Destiny 2 having future updates put on ice, it’s reaching 47,000 concurrent players compared to Marathon’s 2,800. That’s a difference of over ten times the number of gamers concurrently logging in.

Since Destiny launched its final update, Moment of Triumph, on Tuesday, June 9, its player count has consistently peaked at over 50,000 in any one day. Despite it consistently trending down since that date (which reached over 167,000), it’s still far and above anything Marathon has yet to attain since June began – hitting slightly over 40,000 following Season 2’s June 2 release.

While comparisons between the two games aren’t a 1:1, especially considering genre differences and no easily trackable data for how Destiny 2 performed on launch (though a 2017 report from gamesindustry.biz mentions “peak concurrent player counts over 1 million,”) it’s still a large enough gap between a game no longer receiving content updates and one due to receive its third season in September of this year.

Whether Marathon catches up to the long-term playerbase its sibling has garnered remains to be seen, but for now, Destiny 2 looks to be anything but riding off into the sunset.

Anime Overseer codes (July 2026)

Anime Overseer codes can get you through a tough spot. Though the first few challenges can probably be cleared without equipping a secondary unit, the time to practice a proper strategy won’t be far behind. And with the Naruto characters lacking faces, you’ll need to keep your eye on the prize – they can’t see it.

In Anime Overseer, the overseer of the anime is you. That’s because it’s another anime Roblox tower defense title. One with a grand lobby, some fancy shaders, and a pretty depth of field effect that certainly makes for a good (graphical) first impression, but another Roblox TD title nonetheless.

Here are the working Anime Overseer codes right now:

  • PakGMisCool – 40 trait discs, 2k gems, and 1.5k gold (new!)
  • Weout! – 2.5k Coins, 500 Gems, 20 Meat, and five Trait Disks (new!)
  • Overseer! – 500 Gems, three Trait Disks, ten Soul Crystals, five Super Soul Crystals (new!)
  • BelieveInYourself! – 3,000 Coins, 35 Meat, and five Soul Crystals (new!)
  • WhereGameDesignersAt! – 6767 Coins, 676 Gems, five Trait Disks, five Soul Crystals, five Super Soul Crystals, and five Meat (new!)

Once you’ve got a sound strategy on auto-play, why not click here to follow on Google? You’ll have plenty of time to read through a few new guides and news hits while your team of anime-inspired towers defends the base. Unless your strategy wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, of course.

How do I redeem Anime Overseer codes?

You’ll need to jump through a few hoops to redeem new Anime Overseer codes, but we’ll guide you through them below:

  • Launch Anime Overseer on Roblox.
  • Close the game.
  • On the game page, give it a thumbs up.
  • Favorite the game.
  • Click the developer link beneath the game name and join the group.
  • Launch Anime Overseer again.
  • Click the ‘codes’ button on the right side of the screen.
  • Enter a working code.
  • Click the redeem button.

How do I play Anime Overseer?

With so much going on in the first few seconds of the game, it can be hard to figure out how to actually start a round in Anime Overseer. Given the size of the lobby, the best way is to click the ‘teleport’ button on the left side of the screen and click the fourth option. This whisks you away to the match gates.

If you’ve played a Roblox TD title in the last few years, you’ll know what’s going on here. If not, just walk up to an empty glowing wall to choose your challenge. If you want to join someone else, walk into an occupied gate and hope they don’t let it time out.

How do I get more Anime Overseer codes?

It’s surprisingly easy to spot new codes once you join the Anime Overseer Discord server. Find the link at the bottom of the game page and you’ll soon spot a ‘codes’ channel on the left side of the app. Hop in, and you’ll have a long list of new codes to choose from – the same codes you’ll find on the list above.

Of course, that means if you don’t want the hassle of joining another Roblox Discord server, you really don’t have to: we have all the working codes for Anime Overseer right here on this page.

Once you catch wind of a new update, chances are new Anime Overseer codes will be ready to claim. Check back here whenever you’re ready to take on a wave, and you might just get some free gems toward your next great pull.

Iconic Suit from Pragmata’s Demo Returns in New Update

PRAGMATA is one of my favorite releases of the year, partly thanks to the excellent lead duo, Hugh and Diana. There are plenty of outfits to unlock for both characters, but one of the most iconic suits for Hugh was previously only available in the Sketchbook Demo.

CAPCOM has released a new update for PRAGMATA ahead of Father’s Day, bringing back the Scribble Suit alongside a few gameplay and text adjustments.

Scribble Suit Returns in PRAGMATA

The Scribble Suit for Hugh was previously only unlockable in the Sketchbook Demo, but today’s update adds the outfit to the full game as well.

Image via CAPCOMImage via CAPCOM

So, if you wanted to hack and shoot enemies while wearing an outfit covered in Diana’s drawings, you can now do so throughout the entire game. Hugh’s helmet will now have a goofy smile the entire time he destroys robots in tense encounters.

To change outfits in Pragmata, go to the Outfit Terminal in the Shelter to browse and select the one you want. There is no special requirement for this particular outfit.

Here are the complete patch notes for the update, which is available across all platforms including PC, PS5, Xbox Series S|X and the Nintendo Switch 2:

  • Hugh’s Scribble Suit outfit added.
  • Training Simulation #30, “Stand or Die,” difficulty reduced.
  • Minor text corrections implemented.

The only gameplay-related adjustment in the patch targets Training Simulation #30, “Stand or Die.” CAPCOM hasn’t detailed exactly what was changed, but lowering the difficulty should make the challenge more approachable, especially if you’re going for the ranks.

This is the last challenge in the training simulations, and finishing it unlocks the “Master of the Simulator” achievement. If this particular challenge was holding you back from unlocking it, I’d give it another try now.

Memories Are You Music Video

Alongside the update, CAPCOM has also released a full-length music video for PRAGMATA’s main theme song, “Memories Are You,” which you can watch below (be warned, though, there are spoilers in the footage):

It’s not a major update, especially since PRAGMATA is already in good shape from a performance standpoint, but it’s nice to see the game continue receiving support. Despite being a new IP, PRAGMATA sold over two million copies in just 16 days and has earned praise from both fans and critics.

I really hope CAPCOM is planning to release an expansion or DLC for PRAGMATA. While there are plenty of in-game incentives to replay the title thanks to its higher difficulty modes, it would be great to experience some new story content as well. Be sure to check out my review of the game.
